NPR, America’s Daily Propaganda Gristmill (Oct. 7, 2010)
I don’t especially want to listen to National Public Radio (more accurately, National Propaganda Radio), but I have few alternative choices if I want to hear talk radio. There are exactly TWO all-talk FM stations (in English) in southern California.: KPFK (Left wing mecca for “progressives”. Translation: Liberals, Socialists, & Communists) and KPCC (one of over 910 “community” radio stations controlled and dominated by NPR). The “PCC” stands for Pasadena City College. If the radio station licence for KPCC at 89.3 FM was granted to a community college in Pasadena, California, why aren’t we hearing college kids yammering away instead of that slick, pro-Zionist, pro-Right, pro-NWO propaganda crew from NPR? There are hundreds of radio station licenses that were allocated to colleges and universities across America that have been co-opted and taken over by NPR. Has anyone ever questioned this?
How many students attending a community college or university with a radio station that has been co-opted by NPR realize the loss that represents to them, the student body of that school? The air waves are considered to be owned by the public. When the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allocated frequency slots and transmitting wattage limits, universities and colleges were given a special classification so that American college kids could use the public air waves to express THEIR ideas and opinions as an appropriate and proper venue for PUBLIC use of the air waves. The decision to join with NPR and become a “member” station were NOT made by the alumni and student bodies of those co-opted schools, but rather by school reagents or trustees or board members who were certainly NOT functioning as trustees for STUDENT’S interest.
In my area, there’s a small 1,000 or 2,000 watt radio station associated with the University of California, Irvine campus called KUCI at 88.9FM and it’s functioning as EVERY college radio station across America should be operating: radio programs hosted by students (or faculty) FOR students. The takeover of community college radio stations by NPR is a HUGE scandal that needs to be addressed and rectified.
AM Talk Radio
There are many more AM talk radio stations, but AM talk radio is dominated by 900+ Clear Channel radio stations which relentlessly tows the neo-con propaganda themes of the Al-CIAda “terrorists”, Taliban “insurgents”, fanatical “Muslim radicals” and the ever-growing “Islamic threat” Bogey Man which seems to grow another foot or two every week. Just try calling in to one of these AM talk shows and broach the idea that 911 was an inside job, or that vaccines are not good for you, or that Israel is something less than the great defender of freedom and liberty and peace in the Middle East and see what happens to you.
Clear Channel was consolidated under Bush family pal and fellow billionaire Tom Hicks, with some help from Clinton’s pal, Vernon Jordan. Right wing money bags Lowry Mays is currently running the ship.
Back to NPR
The pro-Pentagon, pro-Israel, pro-Right, pro-corporate bias at NPR is unmistakable ~ and infuriating. It’s not too hard to figure out what’s going on when you hear the names of the organizations who SPONSOR NPR programming: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trust, the Annenberg Foundation, The Ford Foundation, etc., etc.
NPR “governance” is in the hands of the same Zionist-controlled, “globalists”, corporate propaganda prostitutes who deliver us the “news” at the New York Times, or CNN, and video “documentaries” from the propaganda factory at WGBH in Boston. Another thing to pay attention to is that many of these individuals are not born in America.
NPR President Vivian Schiller’s bio says that she started out as a Russian interpreter for CNN in Russia. Something is whispering in my ear that she’s likely Russian born (she looks Russian). The Chair of the NPR Foundation, Antoine W. van Agtmael, tells you up front that he got his undergraduate degree in the Netherlands.
Vivian took over in 2009 from Kevin Klose, who ran the show from 1998 to 2009 (what a background he has: Voice of America, Radio Liberty, Radio Free Europe, Radio Free Asia, Worldnet Television, and Radio /TV Marti (Is there anyone on the planet who doesn’t know these are CIA propaganda operations?).
And what’s Vivian’s background?
From her bio posted at NPR (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=99152497)
“Prior to joining NPR, Vivian Schiller served at The New York Times Company as Senior Vice President and General Manager of NYTimes.com. Schiller led the day-to-day operations of NYTimes.com, the largest newspaper website on the Internet, overseeing product, technology, marketing, classifieds, strategic planning, and business development.
Previously, Schiller spent four years as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Discovery Times Channel, a joint venture of The New York Times and Discovery Communications. Schiller launched the network, and under her leadership, Discovery Times Channel tripled its distribution while achieving critical acclaim for its award winning journalistic programming.
Schiller also served as Senior Vice President of CNN Productions, where she led CNN’s long-form programming efforts. Documentaries and series produced under her auspices earned multiple honors, including three Peabody Awards, four Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Awards, and dozens of Emmys.
“Schiller began her career as a simultaneous Russian interpreter in the former Soviet Union, which led her to documentary production work for Turner Broadcasting.”

Take the time to look up any of these individuals, and you will see the elitist, corporate background every time.
NPR attempts to maintain this charade that they are underwritten by listeners from member radio stations and just receive a stipend supplemental support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB is also controlled by pro-Israel, pro-corporate, pro-government shills) and some corporate sponsors. But the money that goes into running such a huge operation as NPR takes big bucks and big bucks only comes from Deep Pockets; Illuminated deep pockets.
Web Sites Criticizing NPR’s Bias & Blatant Propaganda Peddling
1. I found one guy on the net by the name of Matthew Murrey , a librarian in Urbana, Illinois, who’s trying to expose the unmitigated propaganda torrent that flows from NPR as best he can, but it’s going to take a full time effort by someone with the time, determination and resources to properly counter NPR’s daily diet of misdirection, misinformation, disinformation, deception, and omissions. (Matthew does a good job all the same. )

Please, will someone send step into the breech and counter these deceiving NPR phonies with the daily, rebuttal-shellacking that they so richly deserve?

NAZI PROPAGANDA RADIO
Is Joseph Goebbels running National Public Radio? I can’t believe the crap they are putting over the radio! They did a propaganda piece on Tennessee Technology Centers where the school generously PLANS OUT YOUR LIFE FOR YOU! They literally said, “For some students, choice is the enemy.” My goodness. This sounds like training in the old Soviet Union where the State decides what your good at doing for work. Nazi Propaganda Radio never questioned the assumption that education is for the benefit of YOUR FUTURE EMPLOYER! TTC is really concerned with big business need for trained meat and they are going to pump them out EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO CHANCE IN HELL THEY ARE GOING TO GET A JOB WHEN THE BANKS CRASH.
In North Korea everyone smiles fanatically especially if foreigners are around because if you are not smiling that means you are an unhappy snow flake and that means the DEAR LEADER isn’t successful which mean you are slandering the State which means your life is about a secure as a….snow flake. NPR (Nazi Propaganda Radio) is just like that except it isn’t smiling, but instead it delivers that insane happy talk didactic.
Wait, it gets worst. Then there was a commentator that has never read a single book on fascism in his entire life. He said Obama wasn’t a socialist and the Republicans are not fascist. In other words the two statements in one proposition are equally wrong. Obama is a socialist only in so far as he is letting Wall Street take our money–Obama is just another pair of lips kissing Wall Street’s a$$. If Obama is a socialist then what the fu** is George Bush when he was President and give Wall Street trillions of dollars? The Republicans are not fascist? Doesn’t anyone at the Ministry of Truth know the difference between the intentionist and the structuralist interpretation of fascist movements (hint: page 127 of The Anatomy of Fascism, Robert O. Paxton). Haven’t they heard of the “Fascist Minimum?”
And here is another load of crap: Obermann and Beck are paired together as though Glen Beck actually knows something. Notice that NPR just has to let the pairing occur and say nothing. NPR is trying to elevate Beck to Obermann’s level of knowledge with Glen Beck’s Corn Pone Fascism with the added benefit of lowering Obermann to Beck’s place down in the gutter. CAN YOU SMELL THE CRAP? John Locke, Emmanuel Kant, Albert Einstein, and Glen Beck. NPR is saying through their PROXIES WHICH THEY SELECT that the word “fascism” is just a slandering term and has no real historical meaning.
Then they interviewed a student from the American University in Cairo who just arrived from Egypt! At least NPR didn’t tell them “Now, did you learn your lesson?” My goodness! Hasn’t NPR ever interviewed an injured Occupy protestor in America? Oh, and another fact that they just slopped over–an Egyptian “voter” is reporting it took her two days to register to vote in a country that people are not custom to voting. Is Egypt taking voter suppression lessons from the Republican party? Women are now routinely sexually assaulted by the Egyptian army. I wonder where they got that idea.
Then they did a story of the drug cartel wars in Mexico and never made the connection between the corrupt fascist government of Mexico and its orgy of poverty and violence. Calderón stole the 2006 election. This story makes Calderón look like a hero battling the drug cartels. Calderón is just fighting for HIS MARKET SHARE! The real problem is all those dirty hippies doing drugs in the US so poor little Calderon has to clean up America’s mess. How about going for the money and shutdown the US banks sitting on mountains of dollars that they laundry for Mexico?
The tone of NPR is that “all bloggers are deviated preverts, or about to do their preversions because that is what deviated preverts do—pre-versions. It’s only a matter of time before these deviants do their preversion and NPR will report it.”
On the whole I am extremely impressed by NPR: they pulled some slick sh!t.
The only good story was about the FBI’s Office for Victim Assistance helping persons traumatized by crime. Why don’t local city police departments have psychologists on the scene for domestic disturbances? What good are all these experts when they are not used? Or are they all at Gitmo?
At least the FBI came out looking good. Wait a minute! What the ****?
…at just this moment it had been announced that Oceania was not after all at war with Eurasia. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Eurasia was an ally… There was, of course, no admission that any change had taken place. Merely it became known, with extreme suddenness and everywhere at once, that Eastasia and not Eurasia was the enemy. (George Orwell, 1984)
[Editor’s Note: To the casual listener, Amy Goodman sounds good on her program Democracy Now! which I hear locally on Pacifica radio (KPFK) out of Los Angeles. She comes across as someone who’s anxious to expose all of the horrors of the Bush administration, especially when it comes to the invasion of Iraq and its aftermath.
All well and good, but there are a number of stories that she doesn’t cover and of greater importance, she seems to be carrying the party line on certain topics like Global Warming and ‘Peak Oil’ (she co-authored a book with her brother which supports the Michael Ruppert disinfo camp on Peak Oil (E.g., the world is rapidly run out of oil) and her unwillingness to face up to the undeniable physics of 9-11.
You might be interested to know that her program, Democracy Now!, is funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Coincidence? Another funding source to be converned about is The Ford Foundation, a cover operation for CIA sponsored projects-including disinformation.
Update: Sep 27, 2005: Since we’re on the topic of left gatekeepers, you might want to read these exposes of Noam Chomsky as well..Ken]
